LEGACY BEHIND SCARS

Behind each scar there is a history and sometimes a culture. Legacy Behind Scars is a magazine with articles focused on photojournalism that approach the theme of scars from a historical point of view.

The magazine is divided into two sections. The first concerns the involuntary scars, more specifically scars caused by war. This section contains articles on different stories of people who have experienced some of the worst wars in human history. The “scars” of the photographs become messages to make known the realities of the violence and suffering caused by the war. The other section of the magazine concerns the voluntary scars and their practice, which is called scarification.
